ASIAN INDEPENDENTS PAVILION
The Hong Kong International Film Festival is organizing an ASIAN INDEPENDENTS PAVILION, an umbrella stand for independent Asian cinema for the Hong Kong Filmart, which will take place from June 23 - 25, 2004. During these three days, sizable representations of buyers and distributors from China, Japan, wsetern Europe and north America are expected to congregate in Hong Kong to conduct a variety of film-related businesses. The umbrella stand's mission is to promote the dissemination of independent productions from Asian countries and regions, by ways of fostering an environment for filmmakers to meet distributors and organizing industry screenings. In its first year of operation, the AIP aims to bring together the latest productions from east and southeast Asia.
